The Southwest Lynx System is a state wide Amateur Radio system. It exist to provide VHF and UHF desaster communications across the state of Texas.
To that end Many individual repeater owners have elected to join the system The Lynx currently covers about 50% of the major metro areas. The "back bone of the systen is carried on phone lines and linked via radio to some of the fringe areas.
The lynxs system is not just a play toy. It is a viable means for supplying emergency communications in support of desaster relief across much of the state. Operaiting as a tax-free entity, contibution of any sort are always welcome.
As we continue to develope the system, this web site will continue to reeflect those changes.
