PREAMBLE
Welcome to the Southwest lynxs system
disater communicattions
The Southwest Lynxs system is a Texas, non profit corporation,
operating under section 501(c)(3) of the
internal revenue service code.
The Southwest lynx system exists as an emergency
or disaster radio radio system network
Operating throughtout Texas in accordance
with Federal Communications Commission
Part 97 Rules for the Amateur Radio Servive.
In the event of declared emergency, this
system will serve as backup communications
service in support of State of Texas
Disaster Communicaions Plan and will
become a directed net in support of
the Texas Department of Public Safety,
the Americian Red Cross or the Salvation
army and the areas affected by the declared emergency.
In cooperation with those activities,
this net is to serve as a training exercise
for the purpose of developing skilled,
disciplined and ready operators with an
appreciation for the efficient transmission
information, as well as the extent of coverage
offered by the system.
In times of non emergency use, any
licensed amateur radio station is welcome
to use the system on a non-exclusive basis.
since this system is a state wide resource,
use of the the reapters for local
communications is discouraged, and
frequent pauses in normal amateur
communications encouraged to accommodate other users
should you you desire to provide equipment,
financial or technical support to the southwest lynx system,
